[Adopted 6-22-1970 as Ch. 17 of the 1970 Code]
No person shall make, aid, countenance or assist in making any improper noise or disturbance or operate a motor vehicle or motorcycle in such a manner as to cause excessive squealing or other excessive noise of the tires or motor of said vehicle or motorcycle on the streets of the Village of Fair Haven.
As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
EXCESSIVE SQUEALING AND OTHER NOISE FROM THE TIRES OR MOTOR OF SAID VEHICLE OR MOTORCYCLE
Any noise of the motor or squealing of the tires of a vehicle or motorcycle caused by an unwarranted or unusual acceleration or deceleration of the motor vehicle or motorcycle or in making a turn with said vehicle or motorcycle in such a manner as to cause unnecessary squealing of the tires.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this article shall be punished, upon conviction, by a fine not exceeding $250 for each violation, In addition each violation of this enactment shall constitute disorderly conduct and each person violating the same shall be a disorderly person. Each day that a violation or failure to comply with any provision of this enactment or any regulation promulgated hereunder by the Board of Trustees occurs shall constitute a separate and distinct violation.
This article shall take effect upon final passage and publication as provided by law.
