[An ordinance adopted October 4, 1971, extended the terms of office
of the Mayor and Trustees from two years to four years. Currently, the statutory
authority for the extension is contained in the Village Law § 3-302,
Subdivision 5a.]
The person holding a position of appointed Village officer, department
head and Justice Court Clerk in the Village of Fayetteville, Onondaga County,
need not be a resident nor an elector of the Village of Fayetteville; provided,
however, that such person shall reside in the county in which such Village
is located or an adjoining county within the State of New York.
Editor's Note: This local law stated that it supersedes Village Law
§ 3-300 as said statute applies to appointed Village officers, department
heads and Justice Court Clerk.
