No person shall play ball, knock or drive any
ball or fly any kite in any public street or square of the Village,
or coast or slide down or upon any sidewalk or public street upon
any sled, sleigh, cart, coaster or board without permission from the
Mayor of the Village.
It shall be unlawful for any person to injure
any tree, shrub or fixture of any kind on any street or public place
within the Village.
No person shall lead or drive any horse or drive
any carriage or other vehicle on any sidewalk or permit any horse,
carriage, automobile or other vehicle to stand on any sidewalk or
crosswalk in the Village.

No person shall injure or tear up any pavement,
street or crosswalk, nor shall any person dig any hole or trench in
any street to connect with any sewer, water pipe or main or for any
other purposes, without first having obtained permission of the Superintendent
of Public Works of the Village or whomsoever he shall designate in
writing. Any person who shall tear up any pavement or street or dig
any hole or any trench in any street, having such permission, shall
restore such street or pavement to as good condition as before, to
the satisfaction of the Mayor of the Village.
No person shall erect any pole in the streets
or public places in the Village or extend any wire for telephone,
telegraph or electric purposes in or across any street or public place
in the Village without the permission of the Village Board of Trustees.
No person shall be permitted to participate
in, organize or conduct any parades, shows or exhibitions of any kind
on the streets or public places of the Village except upon the written
consent of the Mayor of the Village.
The occupant of each and every house or building
fronting upon any street or alley, or the owner or the agent of the
owner of any vacant lot fronting as aforesaid, shall at all times
keep the sidewalk and gutter along the premises clear and free of
all rubbish and obstructions of all kinds and shall also keep closely
cut all grass and weeds along the sidewalk, and shall clear such sidewalk
of all snow or ice that shall accumulate every day by 9:30 a.m. of
each day and cause the same to be kept clean from all snow and ice.
Upon default or failure to comply with the provisions of this section,
the Village Board of Trustees may cause such sidewalks and gutters
to be kept clear and free of rubbish and obstructions or cause such
grass or weeds to be cut and cause such sidewalks to be cleared of
snow and ice and assess the expense thereof upon the adjoining land
as provided by law.

No person shall construct or cause any street,
sidewalk, curb, apron, gutter or combined curb and gutter to be constructed
or disturbed upon any public place without first obtaining a written
permit from the Superintendent of Public Works and complying with
the general construction plans and specifications on file in the office
of the Superintendent of Public Works. Where any of the foregoing
activity relates to the construction or relocation of a driveway,
the permit must also be issued by the Code Enforcement Officer after
reviewing same for compliance with the requirements pertaining to
driveways set forth in the Zoning Chapter of the Village Code.
