adopted 1-19-1993 by L.L. No. 2-1993.
A.Â
The following Town officers need not be electors of the Town of Fishkill:
Town Comptroller, Building Inspector/Deputy, Fire Inspector, Deputy
Town Clerk, Town Wetlands Inspector, Town Court Clerk/Deputy and Town
Engineer. Said Town officers are required to reside within a twenty-five-mile
radius of the Town Hall of the Town of Fishkill and shall have all
other qualifications for holding office as provided in § 3
of the Public Officers Law.
B.Â
This article in no way affects the necessity of Town of Fishkill
residency for elected officials.
It is the intention of the Town Board of the Town of Fishkill
to employ § 10 of the Municipal Home Rule Law to modify
and supersede so much of § 23 of the Town Law and § 3
of the Public Officers Law as requires certain appointed officials
to be electors of the Town of Fishkill and by this article to permit
said appointed officials to be electors of Dutchess County or any
contiguous county, so long as their residency falls within a twenty-five-mile
radius of the Town Hall of the Town of Fishkill.
