Police Pension Plan — See Ch. 94, Art. II.
The existing Police Department is hereby recognized and reestablished in and for the Borough of Jim Thorpe. The Chief of Police shall be the chief executive of the Police Department. He shall, under the Mayor, be in charge of the Police Force and have supervision over its members, in the exercise of their powers, duties and authority.
Subordinate to the Chief of Police in the Police Department, the following classifications are hereby established: Sergeant and Patrolman. The number of persons to serve on full-time or part-time basis, and the compensation of each, shall be determined by the Borough Council from time to time.
It shall be the duty of all members of the Police Department to perform such duties as prescribed by law and such other duties as the Mayor or Borough Council by ordinance of resolution may require of them.
No policeman shall charge for or accept any fee or other compensation, in addition to his salary, for any service pertaining to his duties or office, except public rewards and legal mileage allowed for traveling expenses.
The police shall enforce all Borough ordinances and regulations, and shall make or cause to be made to the Mayor notice of complaint of every infraction thereof which shall come to their knowledge and to secure necessary evidence and proof therefor.
The Chief of Police shall make a monthly report of his activities which shall be presented at the regular monthly meeting of Borough Council first succeeding the said month being reported.
