Town of Greenport, NY Article IV Feeding of Pigeons and Seagulls

§ 46-19 Statement of legislative purpose.

The Town Board of the Town of Greenport finds that feeding pigeons and seagulls have caused damage to property and have created nuisances within the Town. The purpose of this article is to protect the health, safety and well-being of persons and property by imposing restrictions on the feeding of pigeons and seagulls within the Town.

§ 46-20 Feeding of pigeons and seagulls prohibited.

It shall be unlawful for any person to feed any pigeons or seagulls in the Town of Greenport except those pigeons that are fed in their own pens and enclosures.

§ 46-21 Penalties for offenses.

Any person violating the provisions of this article shall be subject to a fine of not more than $50 for a first offense; not more than $75 for a second offense; and not more than $100 for the third and all subsequent offenses.
