The office of Tax Assessor is hereby created, and such person shall be appointed by the Mayor with the consent of Council and shall hold office for a term of four years.

The Borough Tax Assessor shall hold a tax assessor certificate pursuant to New Jersey law, shall perform the duty of assessing property for the purpose of general taxation, and shall perform such other duties as set forth by New Jersey statute.
