Editor's Note: This local law also provided as follows: “Please take notice to the extent that this local law may conflict with applicable portions of the Town Law of the State of New York, it is the stated intention of the Town to exercise its authority to supersede and amend, as granted under the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York, Section 10. The Town hereby provides notice that it is exercising its authority to supersede and amend pursuant to Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York Section 22.”
The Town Board of the Town of Deerpark, Orange County, New York hereby creates a Community Development Task Force for the Town and sets forth the following mandates with regard to said task force:
A. 
The task force shall be a noncompensated advisory board created by the Town Board of the Town of Deerpark for community development issues.
B. 
The task force shall be advisory to the Town Board.
C. 
Members of the task force shall be appointed by the Town Board to serve at the pleasure of the Town Board.
D. 
The task force shall consist of not more than 20 members.
E. 
In appointing the membership, the Town Board should strive to include a broad spectrum of individuals with various occupations and interests related to community development issues and matters within the Town.
F. 
The task force shall assist and advise the Town Board in creating and implementing policies to promote the general community welfare, recreational opportunities and prosperity of the inhabitants of the Town of Deerpark and to actively promote, attract, encourage and develop recreation, economically and environmentally sound commerce and industry and economically and environmentally sound projects thereby advancing the job opportunities, health, general prosperity and general community welfare of the people of the Town of Deerpark, Orange County, New York; and to act as a liaison for the Town Board with the New York State Quality Communities Program.
G. 
Members of the task force shall not be required to be residents of the Town since individuals from other areas of the county and other economic levels may be of assistance to the Town in serving on the task force.
H. 
The task force shall have no independent authority whatsoever. The task force shall be advisory to and serve at the pleasure of the Town Board.
