The Town shall secure a record of the Motor Vehicle Bureau of the State of New York or any other license bureau issuing licenses for Town employees or personnel who use Town vehicles in the course of business for the purpose of obtaining an employees record as an operator of motor vehicles to ascertain the driving record of such personnel.
Said records shall be kept on file in the Town Clerk's office for review, and evaluation shall be performed on an annual basis at the expense of the Town and consideration given to unsafe driving habits and records that exist by any personnel in order to promote safer driving habits by Town personnel.
The Town Board will negotiate with any organization representing Town employees to attempt to secure an agreement to promote safe driving habits.
Hereafter upon the occurrence of any accident in which a Town employee or any personnel are involved, complete reports of the accident shall be made by such person involved on forms to be furnished by the Town, and a report shall also be required by the driver's supervisor in writing concerning the facts of the incident and proposed corrective action to avoid similar accidents in the future, all of which reports and records shall be filed with the Town Clerk and reviewed on an annual basis in order to promote safer driving habits by Town employees and personnel.

The Town Board of the Town of Deerpark wishes to define authorized passengers and drivers of the Town owned vehicles.
The authorized passenger of any Town vehicle is any elected official or employee of the Town, state, county or federal governments or persons under written contract with the Town to conduct Town business.
All drivers will be Town employees, approved by the Town's insurance carriers, unless under written purchase order to repair vehicle and only under written purchase order for the purpose of road testing the vehicle being repaired.
