Village of Old Westbury, NY Article IV Sprinkling of Property

§ 210-49 Sprinkling of property restricted.

A. The owner and/or occupant of property in the Village of Old Westbury is hereby prohibited from sprinkling of property, excluding tennis courts, within the Village of Old Westbury, except between May 1 of each year and October 15 of each year, as set forth below.

B. All sprinkler systems, other than hand watering, must have a control device which automatically overrides the system to prevent sprinkling during rainstorms or when the ground does not require watering because of rain during the previous days and which is approved by the Board of Trustees.

C. The Board of Trustees, by resolution, shall establish those devices which are acceptable under Subsection B and the manner of inspection.

§ 210-51.1 Waiver of regulations.

The regulations imposed by this article may be waived by the Board of Trustees on a showing of special circumstances, subject to such other rules and regulations as may be imposed.
