The Town Board recognizes the potential adverse impact on the health, safety and general welfare of the residents of the Town of Ontario living in residential subdivisions by the lack of regulated speed limits and, therefore, deems it appropriate to control such speed limits within said developments.
For the purposes of this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
RESIDENTIAL SUBDIVISION
Any subdivision consisting in whole or in part of private residences wherein a road has been constructed and subsequently dedicated to the Town of Ontario and the Town has accepted the dedication of such roadway.
ROAD
The entire width between the boundary lines of every roadway publicly maintained when any part thereof is opened to the use of the public for purposes of vehicular traffic.
A. 
Upon the acceptance of dedication of any private road or street by the Town Board of the Town of Ontario to be designated as a public road within said Town as a residential subdivision road speed limit of 30 miles per hour shall, upon acceptance of the roadway for dedication and upon proper posting, be in full force and effect for the entire length of said roadway.
B. 
Upon any preexisting subdivision roads wherein dedication has previously been accepted by the Town Board of the Town of Ontario, if another speed limit has not previously been posted, a speed limit of 30 miles per hour shall be in full force and effect for the entire length of the road upon posting. This subsection shall apply only to the following roads:

Clevenger Road West
Community Lane
Coppersmith Trail
Country Club Lane
Creekwood Estates Drive

C. 
The posting of the appropriate speed limit signs shall be in accordance with the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
The speed restrictions set forth herein shall be enforced under the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York and the enforcement provisions set out therein.

All definitions used in the New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law are hereby adopted by reference herein.
The Highway Superintendent of the Town of Ontario is hereby directed to erect speed limit signs as required herein in a manner and shape as authorized by the Department of Transportation.
A. 
No person shall drive a vehicle in excess of 25 miles per hour at any time while within that portion of the Town of Ontario known as "Orchard Grove Village."
B. 
Speed limit signs shall be posted at all entrances to Orchard Grove Village in the Town of Ontario.
