The powers of the Mayor as set forth in § 209-m of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York, Subdivision 2, are hereby delegated to the Chief of Police only insofar as the right to request police assistance from or to grant police assistance to the Village of Irvington on an emergency basis is concerned.
On occasions where it is deemed necessary to request police assistance from or to grant police assistance to the Village of Irvington on a nonemergency basis, such request shall be made by the Chief of Police in advance, through the Mayor of the Village of Tarrytown. Compensation in such nonemergency situations shall be mutually decided upon at the time of the request.
This article shall become effective on the earliest legally permissible date or on such date as a similar and reciprocal law enacted by the Village of Irvington becomes effective, whichever is later.
This article shall remain in effect until it is repealed or until the Village of Irvington repeals or amends its similar reciprocal law, whichever is earlier.
