[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Tarrytown 2-4-2002 by L.L. No. 3-2002. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Deputy Village Treasurer — See Ch. 23.
[Amended 1-21-2003 by L.L. No. 1-2003; 1-5-2009 by L.L. No. 1-2009]
The Board of Trustees finds that, due to the relatively small population of the Village of Tarrytown, it is not always possible to fill certain appointive offices and nonjudicial positions in Village government requiring municipal, administrative or financial expertise with Village residents who are duly qualified to hold such positions. The Board further finds that it is authorized to appoint qualified residents of counties which directly border Westchester County to said offices pursuant to § 3-300 of the Village Law.
[Amended 1-21-2003 by L.L. No. 1-2003; 1-5-2009 by L.L. No. 1-2009; 9-17-2018 by L.L. No. 12-2018; 7-15-2019 by L.L. No. 6-2019; 10-21-2019 by L.L. No. 10-2019]

A person shall be eligible to be appointed to or hold the nonjudicial position of Village Court Clerk, Assistant Court Clerk or Court Attendant provided such person is a resident of Westchester County or in a county in New York State, such as the five boroughs of New York City, Rockland County, Putnam County and Dutchess County, during such appointment.

This chapter shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of the State of New York and shall apply to all persons holding the positions listed in § 52-2.
