The Board of Fire Wardens and the Board of Trustees
of the Village of Tarrytown have caused an investigation and study
to be made concerning possible threats and dangers to the health,
safety and welfare of the public incident to deliveries made to gasoline
service stations of flammable and explosive materials. Particular
note was taken of recent fires and explosions which endanger lives
and property of drivers and persons in the village. After conferring
with representatives of the various petroleum companies doing business
in the village, it was determined that regulations and restrictions
on deliveries are required to minimize the possibility of fire and
explosion.
