The discharge of excessive amounts of unpolluted water or waste to a sanitary sewer or combined sewer is expressly prohibited. The Authority will define the amount it deems excessive in each particular instance and determine the adequacy of a sewer's capacity.
The discharge of garbage to the sewer system is expressly prohibited unless the garbage is first properly shredded.
No person shall discharge to the sewer system industrial wastes except pursuant to the provisions of the industrial pretreatment regulations of the Authority.

The headworks industrial allowance and the parameters as set forth on Exhibit A,[1] attached hereto, made a part hereof and marked Exhibit A are established for all industrial waste discharges to the Hempfield Township Municipal Authority New Stanton Water Pollution Control Plant.

No person shall discharge any waste containing the effluent from a privy, septic tank, sink hole or cesspool or other receptacle for receiving and holding sanitary sewage for an extended period of time before discharge to the sewer system.
No owner of property or user of the sewer system, whether with respect to existing establishments and buildings or establishments and buildings to be constructed hereafter, shall discharge into the sewer system any stormwater, surface water, roof runoff water, subsurface drainage or water from springs.
The Authority may continue in effect and from time to time adopt such further particular rules and regulations, in addition to those set forth in this Part 1, as the Authority shall deem necessary or appropriate for the efficient operation, maintenance and preservation of the sewer system.
All owners of occupied buildings containing food preparation facilities (with the exception of individual private living quarters of dwellings) shall install grease traps or interceptors at the sole cost and expense of said owners. All such traps or interceptors shall be subject to inspection and approval by the Authority; shall be capable of removing grease so that the effluent from the grease trap or interceptor shall not contain more than 75 mg/l of grease; shall be located so as to be readily accessible for easy cleaning and inspection; shall be constructed of impervious materials capable of withstanding abrupt and extreme temperatures; and shall be of substantial construction, watertight and equipped with easily removable covers which, when bolted in place, shall be gastight and watertight. Where installed, all grease traps or interceptors shall be maintained by the owner, at his sole expense, in continuously efficient operation at all times. Materials removed from these facilities shall be disposed of by the owner in accordance with all applicable laws and ordinances.
