The Rural Residential (RR) District is intended to allow for residential development that is compatible with rural character. Preservation of natural features such as steep slopes, floodplains, stream corridors, wetlands and mature woodlands is strongly encouraged. Single-family dwellings, family farms and other low-density uses are permitted. Because an expansion of public sewer service is planned in some parts of this district, significant growth pressures are likely to follow. In its adopted Comprehensive Plan, the Township provided that future development in this district should complement the natural landscape and existing low-density development. The use of conservation subdivisions as the preferred development choice within this district will mutually accommodate the development of property and the protection of sensitive environmental areas.
