A. 
The purpose of the Regional Commercial (RC) District is to provide for larger-scale commercial businesses areas along major transportation corridors with the infrastructure to support them. The Township wishes to contain these uses within these corridors to manage the increasing traffic burden on Township streets.
B. 
The district allows for a range of business types and scales that require good access and ample parking. Suitable uses include mid-size retail (between 10,000 and 75,000 square feet of gross floor area) and large retail (75,000 square feet or more of gross floor area), planned shopping centers, gas stations, hotels, motels and restaurants with or without drive-through facilities. Multifamily dwelling units are also to be permitted. Regional commercial uses serve the needs of people from a broad geographical area both within and outside the Township.

Principal uses permitted by right in the Regional Commercial District are listed in the Table of Uses located in Article II, Table 1.
B. 
Special exceptions allowed within the Regional Commercial District are listed in the Table of Uses located in Article II, Table 1, and shall meet the criteria set forth for such uses established in Article XXVI.
C. 
Accessory uses permitted by right or as a special exception in the Regional Commercial District are listed in the Table of Accessory Uses located in Article II, Table 2. Requirements applicable to accessory uses in the district are located in Article II, § 87-17, and in Table 4.
The bulk and area standards in the Regional Commercial District are set forth in Article II, Tables 3 and 4.

Parking and loading requirements are set forth in Article XXI.

Signage requirements are set forth in Article XXII.

Landscaping and buffering standards are set forth in Article XXIII.

Timber harvesting and logging shall be conducted in accordance with Article XXIV.
