Township of Marple, PA Article II Waterproofing Basements

§ 108-8 Definitions.

As used in this article, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

BASEMENT

That portion of a building which is partly or completely below grade.

BUILDING

A structure or portion thereof constructed and designed for occupancy for residential, business, industrial, institutional or storage purposes.

CONTRACTOR

Any person, firm or corporation, whether owning land in Marple Township or not, applying for a building permit to construct a building.

OWNER

The owner of any property in Marple Township applying for a building permit.

§ 108-9 Compliance with standards required.

Any contractor or owner desiring to construct a building which contains a basement, as a condition to the issuance of a building permit, shall fully comply with Sections 1813.4.1 through 1813.4.3 of the BOCA National Building Code/1993 and any amendments thereto.

§ 108-10 Approval of additional drainage by township.

When the appropriate township official determines that additional drainage systems are required, appropriate plans shall be submitted and approved by the township prior to the issuance of a building permit.

§ 108-11 Conflict with other provisions.

This article shall take precedence over the provisions of the Marple Township Commercial Maintenance Code (Chapter 114) which are inconsistent herewith.
