A plan of the entire Borough showing all streets,
highways, roads, driveways, lanes, ways and alleys thereof, and indicating
the lots thereon shall be prepared, and at all times be kept up to
date by the Borough Engineer. It shall be the duty of the Borough
Engineer to number said lots in such manner as to secure a uniform
system for the purpose of numbering houses and buildings within the
Borough.
A.
Upon approval
of this chapter it shall be the duty of the owner, owners, trustees,
lessees and occupants of each and every house and building erected
upon the lots as numbered in said plan, to place and maintain numbers
assigned to said lots designating the house or building erected on
said lot, in a reasonably conspicuous manner.
B.
After January
1, 2010, all newly constructed houses and buildings numbers and letters
shall conform to the most recent edition of the Pennsylvania Uniform
Construction Code as adopted by the Pennsylvania Department of Labor
and Industry.

The Zoning Officer shall notify the owner or
owners of all lots having houses or buildings erected thereon of the
numbers which have been assigned to said lots and the requirement
to have said number placed conspicuously in front of each house or
building.
Within 30 days from the service of said notice,
it shall be the duty of the owner or owners of each lot of the Borough
wherein a house or building is erected to place and maintain in front
of each house and building in reasonably conspicuous figures the numbers
assigned to said lot.
Upon the completion of any new house or building
hereafter, the owner or builder shall comply with the provisions of
this chapter and place the number assigned to said lot in a conspicuous
manner before said house or building shall be used for the purposes
for which it was intended.

Any person or persons who shall number or attempt
to number any house or building contrary to the provisions of this
chapter, or who shall fail or neglect to number a house or building
when required to do so by the provisions of this chapter or who shall
fail to change the number of any house or building upon notification
by the Zoning Officer or Borough Manager, or who alter, deface, remove
or destroy any number required to be displayed by this chapter shall,
upon conviction before the District Justice within the Borough pay
a fine of not more than $100 or undergo imprisonment for a period
of not more than five days in the Borough lockup or the county jail.

All numbered or lettered building numbers prior to January 1,
2010, shall be considered nonconforming and may remain; preexisting
numbers, if replaced, shall conform to the provisions of this chapter.

As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
