The provisions of this article shall not apply except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or other official control device.

No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in the Parking Prohibited At All Times Schedule, attached to and made a part of this chapter.

No person shall stop a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in the No Stopping Schedule.

No person shall stand a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in the No Standing Schedule.

No person shall park a vehicle between the hours of any day specified in the Parking Prohibited Certain Hours Schedule unless otherwise indicated.

No person shall stop a vehicle during the times specified in No Stopping Certain Hours of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule.

No person shall stand a vehicle during the times specified in No Standing Certain Hours Schedule, of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule.

No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in the Time Limit Parking Schedule at any time between the hours listed in said schedule, of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said schedule.

No person shall park a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in the Angle Parking Schedule, except at the angle designated and only within the painted stall lines. On all streets or portions thereof where angle parking is now or shall hereafter be authorized, all vehicles parked thereon shall be parked with the front nearest the curb.

The locations described in the Loading Zones Schedule are hereby designated as loading zones.

The locations described in the Taxi Stands Schedule are hereby designated as taxi stands.

The locations described in the Bus Stops Schedule are hereby designated as bus stops.

Pursuant to the authority granted under § 1660-a of the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York, the areas described in Greece Town Code § 146-3 are hereby designated as fire lanes, and said fire lanes shall be maintained and kept open at all times for the movement of emergency vehicles and other traffic. No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle except when necessary to avoid conflict with other traffic or pedestrians or in compliance with the directions of a police officer.
It shall be a violation for any person to stop, stand or park a vehicle in any area designated as a place for handicapped parking unless the vehicle bears a permit issued under § 1203-a or 404-a of the Vehicle and Traffic Law.

When any vehicle is parked or abandoned on any highway or public parking lot within this Town during a snowstorm, flood, fire or other public emergency which affects that portion of the public highway or parking lot upon which said vehicle is parked or abandoned, said vehicle may be removed by or under the direction of the Commissioner of Public Works.

After removal of any vehicle as provided in this article, the Police Department may store or cause such vehicle to be stored in a suitable place at the expense of the owner. Such owner of the vehicle may redeem the same upon payment to the person with whom the vehicle is stored of all expenses actually and necessarily incurred in effecting such removal and storage, such storage charges not to exceed the charge as set forth from time to time by the Town Board of the Town of Greece.
It shall be the duty of the Police Department to ascertain to the extent possible the owner of the vehicle or the person having the same in charge and to notify him of the removal and disposition of such vehicle and of the amount which will be required to redeem same. Said department shall also without delay report the removal and disposition of any vehicle removed as provided in this article to the Town Clerk.
