A. 
No person shall operate a vehicle on any public highway within the Village at a rate of speed in excess of 30 miles per hour, except along King Street and the portion of Westchester Avenue, between the Village line with Harrison and the Rye Town Hilton driveway, which are public highways owned by the state where the state has established a higher speed limit.

B. 
No person shall operate a vehicle at a speed in excess of the speed limit established by the state of 35 miles per hour for the portion of King Street that is within the municipal boundaries of the Village. No person shall operate a vehicle at a speed in excess of the speed limit established by the state of 40 miles per hour for the portion of Westchester Avenue between the Village line with Harrison and the Rye Town Hilton service driveway.

C. 
No person shall operate a vehicle within 300 feet of a school building line at a rate of speed in excess of 15 miles per hour on school days between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.
D. 
The Board of Trustees may, by resolution, establish reduced speed limits on other public highways within the Village.
E. 
No person shall operate a vehicle in excess of 15 miles per hour in a westerly direction on the north side of Bowman Avenue beginning 400 feet west of South Ridge Street and continuing for 1,125 feet.

F. 
There will be a school zone speed limit of 15 miles per hour in an easterly direction on the south side of Bowman Avenue beginning 1,525 feet west of South Ridge Street and continuing for 1,125 feet.

G. 
No person shall operate a vehicle at a speed in excess of 35 miles per hour in either direction on the part of Anderson Hill Road which is in the Village of Rye Brook.

A. 
Wherever traffic at an intersection is alternately directed to proceed and to stop by the use of signals exhibiting colored lights or the words "go," "caution" and "stop," said lights and terms shall indicate as follows:
(1) 
Green or "go" shown alone: Traffic facing the signal may proceed, except that vehicular traffic shall yield the right-of-way to pedestrians and vehicles lawfully within a crosswalk or the intersection at the time such signal is exhibited.
(2) 
Yellow or "caution": When shown following the green or "go," traffic facing the signal shall stop before entering the intersection unless so close to the intersection that a stop cannot be made safely.
(3) 
Red or "stop": Traffic facing the signal shall stop and remain standing until green or "go" is shown alone, except that at a crossing where right turns on a red light are not prohibited by properly posted signs, vehicles in the lane nearest the curb may make a right turn after first coming to a full stop.
B. 
A traffic light controls traffic only at the intersection at which it is located.

A vehicle shall not proceed on a one-way street except in the direction indicated by signs or other markings.

A vehicle shall not exit from Hawthorne Avenue on the west side of the dividing island to Westchester Avenue except in the direction indicated by signs.

A vehicle shall not enter from Westchester Avenue into Hawthorne Avenue on the east side of the dividing island except in the direction indicated by signs.

A. 
For purposes of this chapter, "commercial vehicle" means a self-propelled or towed vehicle that:
(1) 
Has a gross vehicle weight rating (GVWR) or gross vehicle weight, whichever is greater, in excess of 9,000 pounds; or
(2) 
Has a commercial license plate; or
(3) 
Has visible tools or equipment; or
(4) 
Is designed or used to transport passengers for compensation; or
(5) 
Is designed or used to transport more than 8 passengers, including the driver, and is not used to transport passengers for compensation; or
(6) 
Is used in transporting hazardous materials; or
(7) 
Has any lettering or signage painted or otherwise attached to the vehicle, including but not limited to the roof top of the vehicle.
B. 
Motor trucks, except those delivering merchandise, other items or services along and in the vicinity of the following streets of the Village of Rye Brook, are forbidden the use of and travel upon the following streets:
(1) 
Garibaldi Place.
(2) 
West Street.
(3) 
Osborn Place.
No vehicle shall be driven in, over or upon any sidewalk or that portion of the public highway set aside for a sidewalk, except as a permanent driveway or temporary driveway for which permission has been granted.
