[HISTORY: Adopted by the Town Board of the

Pursuant to § 150 of the Town Law
of the State of New York, the Town Board of the Town of North Greenbush
does hereby establish a Town Police Department effective immediately.
The compensation of policemen shall be a town charge.

The Chief of Police for the Town of North Greenbush,
County of Rensselaer, State of New York, is hereby authorized and
empowered to request mutual aid from any neighboring municipality,
the County of Rensselaer or the State of New York.

The Chief of Police for the Town of North Greenbush,
County of Rensselaer, State of New York, is hereby authorized and
empowered to respond to a request for mutual aid from any neighboring
municipality or the County of Rensselaer, New York.

A.
All members and employees of the Police Department
of the Town of North Greenbush shall be residents of the following
locations on the date said person accepts employment and they shall
continue to be residents as stated for as long as they continue to
be members or employees of the Department.

Any city, town or village located within Rensselaer County, Albany
County or Saratoga County.
B.
A position of employment with or a membership in the
police force of the Town of North Greenbush shall become vacant immediately
when the holder of such position ceases to be a resident of the Town.
C.
The terms of this section shall not apply to any member
of the police force or employee of the Police Department who was appointed
prior to the effective date of the section.
