Where a public sanitary sewer is not available under the provisions of Article
III, §
151-6, the building sewer shall be connected to a private wastewater disposal system complying with the provisions of this article and meeting the requirements of the Rensselaer County Department of Health.
Before beginning the construction of a private
wastewater disposal system, the owner shall first obtain a written
permit from the Rensselaer County Department of Health. The applicant
shall conform to the regulations of the County Health Department and
fill out the necessary forms therefor. He shall supplement the application
by any plans, specifications and other information deemed necessary
by the Department of Health, as well as arrange to make percolation
tests of the soil. These tests shall meet the approval of the Department
of Health before the plans are completed. Construction of such a private
system shall not be started until plans are approved and the installation
witnessed by a representative of the Rensselaer County Department
of Health.
No statement contained in this article shall
be construed to interfere with any additional requirements that may
be imposed by the Rensselaer County Department of Health.
