Editor's Note: This local law was subject
to a referendum vote and was approved by the voters of the Town of
Owasco at a special election held 5-10-1977.
This chapter is enacted pursuant to the authority
of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York
and shall be known as the "Games of Chance Law of the Town of Owasco."
A.
The words and terms used in this chapter shall have
the same meanings as such words and terms as used in Article 9-A of
the General Municipal Law, unless otherwise provided herein or the
context requires a different meaning.
Games of chance may be conducted in the town
by an authorized organization, after obtaining a license therefor,
in accordance with the provisions, requirements and limitations of
Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law, the rules and regulations
of the New York State Racing and Wagering Board and this chapter.
The conduct of games of chance on Sundays is
authorized, except as otherwise provided in Article 9-A of the General
Municipal Law.
