[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Poquott as indicated in article histories. Amendments noted where applicable.]

No person or persons, firm or corporation, shall alter or disturb the grade of any Village street, highway or public place within the Village of Poquott, nor shall any person or persons, firm or corporation disturb the paving upon any Village street or highway or public place within the Village of Poquott, nor dig up nor excavate any such street or highway unless such person or persons, firm or corporation shall first obtain from the Board of Trustees a permit thereof signed by the Clerk limiting the area and location and duration of such disturbance, which permit shall not be granted unless the person or persons, firm or corporation desiring the same shall agree to restore the street to substantially its former condition and shall deposit with the Clerk a performance bond as directed by the Village Board to ensure the proper restoration of the earth and pavement taken up or removed by them. If not so restored by the applicant, the Village may restore the same out of such deposit under the direction of the Village Street Commissioner.
Any person found guilty of a violation of the provisions of this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of not more than $250, imprisonment for up to 15 days, or both, for each offense.

No public service corporation shall open any Village street, highway or public place, for the laying of pipes, conduits or for any other purpose, without first obtaining a permit as herein before provided, and entering into an agreement with the Village for the restoration thereof to the same condition substantially as before opening the same and to maintain the same in such condition for a period of one year.
