GENERAL REFERENCES
Police Department — See Ch. 81.
For purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
FIREARM
A firearm as defined by the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation in Section 180.3 of Title 6 of the New York Codes, Rules and Regulations (6 NYCRR 180.3).
PINE BUSH PRESERVE
That area of land owned by the State of New York and bounded by the following points:
Beginning at the intersection of Siver Road and Willow Street, thence proceeding in a generally northerly direction along Siver Road to its intersection with Lydius Street east, thence proceeding in a generally easterly direction along Lydius Street east to its intersection with Old State Road, thence proceeding in a generally northeasterly direction along Old State Road to its intersection with the Corporation limits of the City of Albany, thence in a generally southwesterly direction along the corporation limits of the City of Albany to the intersection of Willow Street and Siver Road.
No person shall discharge a firearm within the Pine Bush Preserve, except police officers during the exercise of their duties.

A. 
Areas protected by this chapter shall be posted with signs not less than 11 inches square. Such notices shall be posted not more than 500 feet apart, close to and along the boundaries of the area protected. At least one notice shall be posted on each side and one at each corner of the protected area, provided that the corner can be reasonably ascertained. Illegible or torn-down notices shall be replaced at least once a year.
B. 
Notices shall bear the name of the Town of Guilderland. Such notices shall bear a conspicuous statement which shall cover a space of not less than eight square inches warning persons that it is a violation of this chapter to discharge a firearm within the Pine Bush Preserve and the penalty therefor.
The discharge of a firearm in violation of this chapter shall be deemed a violation. Such violator shall be liable for a penalty as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III.
