The purpose of this chapter is to protect the public health, welfare, safety, peace and tranquillity by regulating the operation of snowmobiles within the Town of Guilderland.
This chapter shall hereafter be known and cited as the "Town of Guilderland Snowmobile Local Law."
For the purposes of this chapter, the following words shall have the meanings indicated:
SNOWMOBILE
A self-propelled vehicle designed for travel on snow or ice, steered by skis or runners, and supported in part by skis, belts or cleats.
It shall be unlawful for any person to drive or operate any snowmobile on private lands within the Town of Guilderland within 500 feet of any dwelling or dwelling house between the hours of 11:00 p.m. and 7:00 a.m. without written authorization from the owner or occupant of the dwelling.

A failure to comply with the provisions of this chapter shall be deemed a violation, and the violator shall be liable to a penalty as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III.
