By authority of the resolution adopted by the
Town Board on the 18th day of March, 1963, pursuant to the provisions
of Article 16 of the Town Law of the State of New York, the Planning
Board of the Town of Guilderland is authorized and empowered within
that part of the Town of Guilderland, outside the limits of the Incorporated
Village of Altamont, to approve plats for land subdivision.
The purpose of these subdivision regulations
is to provide for the development of the Town by:
A. Providing for harmonious development of residential,
commercial, industrial, cultural, recreational, religious and educational
uses, consistent with rational planning principles;
B. Affording adequate facilities within the Town for
orderly, efficient and economical development;
C. Providing for the preservation of open space and the
protection of the environment; and
D. Facilitating expeditious review of all subdivision
plans by providing uniform standards and procedures.
Before any land is subdivided, the subdivider
shall make application to the Planning Board for and secure approval
of the proposed subdivision in accordance with the provisions of these
subdivision regulations.
