The Town Highway Superintendent is hereby authorized to provide for the removal and storage of any vehicle parked or left unattended within the right-of-way of any street or highway or in any public place within the Town of Guilderland outside of the Village of Altamont where such vehicle constitutes an obstruction to snow removal operations or to municipal vehicles engaged otherwise in the performance of public duties.
The owner of such vehicle may redeem it upon payment of the amount of all expenses actually and necessarily incurred in effecting such removal and storage.
The Town Highway Superintendent shall, upon the removal of any vehicle pursuant to this chapter, promptly report the removal and disposition of such vehicle to the Town Police. It shall then be the duty of such police to ascertain the owner of such vehicle and notify the owner of such removal and disposition.
Any person or persons who shall violate any provisions of this chapter shall be guilty of an offense punishable by a penalty as set forth in Chapter 1, General Provisions, Article III.
