[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson 11-16-1981 by L.L. No. 10-1981. Amendments noted where applicable.]
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:
APPEARANCE TICKET
A written notice issued and subscribed by a public servant authorized by law to issue the same, directing a designated person to appear in a designated local criminal court at a designated future time charging him or her with the commission of a designated offense. A notice conforming to such definition constitutes an appearance ticket, regardless of whether it is referred to in some other provision of law as a summons or by any other name or title.

The following persons are hereby authorized and empowered to issue and serve appearance tickets, provided that the issuance thereof is made pursuant to their statutory authority and otherwise consistent with the terms and provisions of this chapter:
A. 
Village Manager.
B. 
Building Inspector.
C. 
Parking enforcement officer(s).
D. 
Superintendent of Public Works.
E. 
Fire Inspector.
F. 
Hastings-on-Hudson police officer(s).
A. 
The following laws may be enforced by the issuance of appearance tickets: all state, county and/or village:
(1) 
Electrical Code(s).
(2) 
Building Code(s).
(3) 
Housing Code(s).
(4) 
Zoning Code(s).
(5) 
Fire Code(s).
(6) 
Plumbing Code(s).
(7) 
Village Code(s).
B. 
All subjects that are regulated by Village of Hastings-on-Hudson local laws and/or ordinances may be enforced by the issuance of appearance tickets.
Every appearance ticket that is issued, pursuant to the provisions of this chapter, shall include the following:
A. 
Name and address of party(ies) to whom the ticket is issued, when known.
B. 
Citation of law(s) and the appropriate section(s) allegedly violated.
C. 
Place and date of the alleged violation(s).
D. 
Place, date and time that party(ies) is (are) required to appear in court.
E. 
Date of issuance of appearance ticket(s).
F. 
Title and signature of the issuing officer(s).
