[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village of Hastings-on-Hudson 9-17-1915. Amendments noted where applicable.]
No public dance or ball shall be held in a dance hall adjoining, connected with or which is part of a building where liquor is sold until such dance hall shall first have been duly licensed for such purposes.
The license shall be issued by the Mayor of the village to the owner or lessee of the premises, and the fee therefor shall be paid at the time of the issuing of the license. The amount of the annual fee shall be determined by the Village Board by resolution and set in the fee schedule.[2]

Each license granted as above shall be good only for one year from the date of issuance, and every public dance hall shall post its license in a conspicuous place within the hall where the dance is held.
The person, persons, society, club or corporation desiring to hold a dance or ball as aforesaid must first obtain a permit to hold the same from the Mayor of the village, which permit may be issued upon payment of a fee to be determined by the Village Board by resolution and set in the fee schedule.

The Chief of Police or any police officer shall have the power and it shall be his duty to cause the hall where any dance or ball is held or given to be vacated whenever any provision of this chapter is being violated or whenever any indecent act shall be committed or whenever any disorder of a gross, violent or vulgar character shall take place therein.
Any license may be forfeited or revoked by the Mayor of the village after a hearing upon notice to the holder of said license.
All dances or balls held in the aforementioned dance halls shall be discontinued and the dance halls closed on or before 12:30 a.m.
It shall be unlawful to permit any person to attend or take part in any dance or ball so held who has not reached the age of 16 years, unless such person is accompanied by a parent or natural guardian.
Any person, persons, society, club or corporation who shall violate any provision of the foregoing chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined not more than $50 for each and every offense, and on default of payment thereof such person shall be imprisoned for a period not exceeding 50 days.
