[Adopted 10-7-1929; amended at time of adoption of Code 8-11-1997 by L.L. No. 4-1997 (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I)]
No person or corporation shall conduct a retail business in the sale of goods of any description within the limits of the Village of Haverstraw from canal boats or other boats in the Hudson River or in the inlets or waters adjacent thereto, or from the lands by the side of said river, inlets and waters adjacent thereto, except products of the farm and unmanufactured products of the forest, unless and until such person or corporation shall pay to the village a license fee as set forth by the village schedule of fees.[1] The permit shall be issued by the Village Clerk.

Any person, association, organization, corporation, company or business entity violating, or failing to comply with, any provision of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be punishable by a fine not exceeding $250; and which charge, under this chapter, shall be a petty offense or infraction, and not a crime. The continuation or repeat of a violation of, or failure to comply with, any provision of this chapter shall constitute, for each occurrence that transpires or each day on which the violation continues, a separate and distinct charge hereunder.
