The intent of the Board of Trustees of the Village of Islandia
is to implement § 1402 of the Real Property Tax Law providing
for the Village of Islandia to become an approved assessing unit.
On or after the effective date of this chapter, the Village
of Islandia shall become an approved assessing unit.
The initial assessment roll of the Village of Islandia next
due to be created after the effective date of this chapter shall be
created based on the Town of Islip assessment roll and shall be in
effect on the date of the creation of the Village of Islandia assessment
roll, together with those changes that the Village of Islandia determines
properly reflect the condition and values of real property in the
Village of Islandia.
Within five days of the effective date of this chapter, the
Board of Trustees of the Village of Islandia shall file a copy of
such chapter with the required and necessary parties.
