Informed citizenry is vital to the functioning of a healthy democracy. To inform and educate residents of the village as to the official affairs of government, the Board of Trustees intends to periodically provide a public, nonpartisan, nonpolitical newsletter to provide notices of public meetings, information on structure and function of the village government, names and official phone numbers of village officials, schedules for village activities, summaries of official actions and financial reports and such other information as may be proper.
The Board of Trustees is hereby authorized to periodically publish reports, bulletins or other information related to the official acts and meetings of the officers, employees, boards, commissions, departments and other agencies of the village and may distribute such reports, bulletins or other information to the residents and taxpayers of the village.
The provisions of this chapter are declared to be severable, and if any section, sentence, clause or phrase of this chapter shall for any reason be held to be invalid or unconstitutional, such decision shall not affect the validity of the remaining section, sentences, clauses and phrases of this chapter, but they shall remain in effect, it being the legislative intent that this chapter shall stand notwithstanding the invalidity of any part.
