The provisions of this article shall apply except when it is necessary to stop a vehicle to avoid conflict with other traffic or in compliance with the directions of a police officer or official traffic control device.

A. 
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within 15 feet of a fire hydrant.
B. 
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in a designated fire zone.
C. 
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle in a designated handicapped parking space unless a handicapped person or temporarily disabled person is either a passenger, driver or occupant of the vehicle and the vehicle displays a handicapped parking permit issued by a municipality or the vehicle displays a designation issued by the Commissioner of Motor Vehicles pursuant to Vehicle and Traffic Law § 404-a.
D. 
No person shall stop, stand or park a vehicle within a shopping center other than within areas designated for such parking.
No person shall park a vehicle at any time upon any of the streets or parts thereof described in Schedule XI (§ 164-42), attached to and made a part of this chapter.

Street sweeping days shall be designated by the Village Board.

The following regulations shall apply during designated street sweeping days:
A. 
Notwithstanding any other local law to the contrary, no vehicle shall be parked on any public highway within the Village of Islandia during designated street sweeping day.
No person shall stop a vehicle upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XII (§ 164-43), attached to and made a part of this chapter.

No person shall stand a vehicle:
A. 
Upon any of the streets or parts of streets in the Village of Islandia during a declared snow emergency between the date of December 15 up to and including March 15.
B. 
Upon any of the streets or parts of streets during street sweeping between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on the following dates:
(1) 
May 10 to May 20.
(2) 
August 15 to August 25.
(3) 
December 5 to December 15.

C. 
Upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in Schedule XIII (§ 164-44) attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle between the hours specified in Schedule XIV (§ 164-45) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XIV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stop a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XV (§ 164-46) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XV, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall stand a vehicle during the times specified in Schedule XVI (§ 164-47) of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVI, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
No person shall park a vehicle for longer than the time limit shown in Schedule XVII (§ 164-48) at any time between the hours listed in said Schedule XVII of any day, unless otherwise indicated, upon any of the streets or parts of streets described in said Schedule XVII, attached to and made a part of this chapter.
The locations described in Schedule XVIII (§ 164-49), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as loading zones.
The locations described in Schedule XIX (§ 164-50), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as taxi stands.
The locations described in Schedule XX (§ 164-51), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby designated as bus stops.

A. 
The Board of Trustees hereby establishes metered parking for both sides of North Bedford Avenue from the North Long Island Service Road to the intersection of the southerly lot line of 1800 Motor Parkway on the east side of North Bedford Avenue and the southerly lot line of 1770 Motor Parkway on the west side of North Bedford Avenue, and the entire length of Raymond Drive.
B. 
Penalties and penalties for overdue fines.
(1) 
The fine for a violation of any provision of § 164-24.1, unless specifically set as a different amount, shall be $100.
(2) 
In the event that the fine due for a violation of § 164-24.1 is not paid within 30 days of the date of the issuance of the ticket for the violation, there shall be a penalty of $100 imposed on the original amount of the fine for the violation ticket.
(3) 
In the event that the fine due for a violation of this section is not paid within 60 days of the date of the issuance of the ticket for the violation, there shall be a penalty of $200 imposed on the original amount of the fine for the violation ticket.

A. 
The Board of Trustees hereby designates the areas described in § 164-51.1 as pedestrian crosswalks in the Village of Islandia.
B. 
In all areas designated as a pedestrian crosswalk, a pedestrian at all times shall have the right-of-way and all vehicle and other traffic shall stop and yield for a pedestrian in a designated pedestrian crosswalk in the Village of Islandia.
C. 
A violation of this section shall be subject to a fine of $500.
