It is the purpose of this article to modify the requirements
of § 23 of the Town Law and § 3 of the Public
Officers Law, which sections require that the Superintendent of Highways
be a resident of and elector within the Town.
This article is enacted pursuant to the provisions of § 10
of the Municipal Home Rule Law.
The title of this article shall be "Residency Requirements of
the Superintendent of Highways."
The Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Lewisboro need
not be a resident of and elector within the Town of Lewisboro but
must reside within the County of Westchester or an adjoining county
within the State of New York.
