For the purposes of this article, the words "vehicle," "owner" and "highway" shall have the meanings as defined in the Vehicle and Traffic Law of the State of New York.
Every vehicle, while carrying refuse, trash, garbage, rubbish, litter or any nauseous or offensive matter on the public highways in the Town of Livonia, outside of the corporate limits of the Village of Livonia, shall be so equipped that there is no spilling of said refuse, trash, garbage, rubbish, litter or any nauseous or offensive matter on said public highways of the Town of Livonia or within the limits of the rights-of-way of said highways.
Any person, firm or corporation which violates any provision of this chapter shall be punishable, upon conviction, by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that such violation continues shall be considered a separate and distinct offense.
