The Town Board of the Town of Livonia has the right to terminate water
service to any customer who fails to comply with the provisions of this chapter.
Written notice of such termination will be given to the customer a minimum
of five business days prior to terminating service.
A violation of the provisions of this chapter is a misdemeanor punishable
by a fine not to exceed $1,000 for any one case, to be recovered in an action
or proceeding brought by the Attorney for the Town of Livonia in a court of
competent jurisdiction. Each day of a continuing violation shall be subject
to a separate such fine or civil penalty.
The Attorney for the Town of Livonia may maintain an action or proceeding in the name of the Town of Livonia in a court of competent jurisdiction to compel compliance with this chapter or restrain by injunction any violation of this chapter, notwithstanding the provisions of § 145-37 hereof for a penalty or other punishment.
Where any violation of this chapter causes expense to the Town of Livonia,
such violation may also be punishable by a civil suit against the violator,
brought by the Town Attorney for the Town of Livonia in the name of the Town
of Livonia in a court of competent jurisdiction, to cover such additional
cost.
