Village of Massapequa Park, NY Article I Licenses; Prohibitions

§ 74-1 License required.

A. [1] In addition to the businesses, places, trades, occupations and things required to be licensed by statute or by other local laws and ordinances of the village, the following activities must be duly licensed:

(1) Billiard and pocket billiard rooms.[2]

(2) Bowling alleys.

(3) Rifle ranges.

(4) Common shows, theaters, circuses, carnivals, moving-picture shows and similar places of amusement.

B. No person shall engage in or carry on any business, trade or occupation or maintain any place or thing specified in this section without a license therefor.

§ 74-2 Citizenship requirement.

The provisions of § 202-2 regarding the citizenship of applicants for licenses or renewals thereof shall apply to the activities regulated in this Part 1.

§ 74-3 Issuance, expiration, revocation and suspension of license.

Except as otherwise provided, the provisions of §§ 202-3 through 202-8 inclusive, regulating the issuance of licenses generally, the expiration, suspension and revocation thereof, shall be applicable to the activities regulated by this Part 1.

§ 74-4 Mobile kiddie rides.

The operation of mobile kiddie rides, including carousels, mechanical horses and similar rides, is prohibited within the village.

§ 74-5 Shooting galleries and ranges.

No person shall operate or maintain a shooting gallery or range in the village.
