Pursuant to the authority conferred by the provisions of § 20,
Subdivision 6(c), of the Town Law of the State of New York, effective January
1, 1974, and thereafter, the office of Receiver of Taxes and Assessments in
the Town of Massena shall be an appointive office, subject to a permissive
referendum.[1]
