This chapter shall apply to all houses, apartments and other buildings
located within the Town of Salina, except those houses, apartments and other
buildings constructed on streets or roads where three-digit numbering is already
in place.
A.
Houses. Every owner and occupant of every building in
the Town of Salina shall have placed thereon, in a place visible from the
street and highway, figures or lettering of four inches minimum in size, which
shall be of four digits and shall contrast the color of the building, so that
they are clearly legible from the adjacent street or highway, showing the
number of the house.
B.
Apartments, town houses and multiple dwellings. Every
owner of every apartment building, town house or multiple-residence complex
in the Town of Salina shall also have placed, in a place visible from the
street or highway, figures or lettering of four inches minimum in size, which
shall be of four digits and shall contrast with the color of the building
so that they are clearly legible from the adjacent street or highway. The
figures or lettering shall be illuminated or reflective, so as to be clearly
visible to the occupant of any emergency vehicle operating on the adjacent
street or highway, showing the number of each building.
C.
Other buildings. Every owner or occupant of any other
building or structure, except farm buildings, shall also have placed, in a
place visible from the adjacent street or highway, figures or lettering of
four inches minimum in size, which shall be of four digits and shall contrast
with the color of the building, so that they are clearly legible from the
adjacent street or highway, showing the number of the building.
Any owner or occupant who shall fail to place or have placed the number
or letter of any building or apartment as required by this chapter, after
receiving written notice, shall, after the expiration of two weeks from the
date of service of such written notice, be guilty of a violation of this chapter
and may be punished in accordance herewith.
