A.
The City Council of the City of Troy does hereby elect to pay on account of any member of its Police and Fire Bureaus who has duly elected, or shall hereafter duly elect, to retire after 20 years of service, as provided by § 384(d), or after 25 years, as provided by § 384 (f) (g) (h)[1] of the Retirement and Social Security Law, or any subsequent amendments thereto, the entire additional cost on account of the police or fire service rendered by such officer or member of the Police and Fire Bureaus prior to the date of the adoption of this resolution (adopted Dec. 27, 1973), and further agrees to pay the entire additional cost on account of Police and Fire Bureaus on and after January 1, 1974.
B.
The City Council of the City of Troy does hereby elect, as provided in Chapter 952, Laws of 1972, to permit participation in the twenty-five-year retirement plan available by those members of its police or fire department who, through no negligence of their own, failed to join during the prescribed period of eligibility.
