GENERAL REFERENCES

There is hereby established a Police Department for the Village of Tuxedo Park, to be known as and by the name of the "Village of Tuxedo Park Police Department."
A. 
The Village Board shall appoint a Chief of Police and such other officers and policemen as may be needed from time to time in accordance with and pursuant to the rules of the Orange County Civil Service Commission.
B. 
The compensation of such Chief of Police, officers and policemen shall be a Village charge.
The Village Board shall pay all or part of the cost of uniforms and necessary equipment of its policemen as it may determine and may purchase, rent or lease such equipment and office or other space for use by the Police Department as it shall from time to time deem necessary, including police patrol vehicles and emergency service vehicles for police use in connection with accidents, public calamities or other emergencies.
The Chief of Police of the Village of Tuxedo Park, whenever he deems the public interest requires it, may request either the chief executive officer or the Chief of Police of the Town of Tuxedo to detail, assign and make available for duty and use in the Village of Tuxedo Park any part of the forces, equipment and supplies of the Police Department of the Town of Tuxedo.
The Chief of Police of the Village of Tuxedo Park may, upon request from either the chief executive officer or the Chief of Police of the Town of Tuxedo, detail, assign and make available for duty and use in the Town of Tuxedo any part of the forces, equipment and supplies of the Police Department of the Village of Tuxedo Park.
The assistance requested or granted shall be in accordance with the provisions of § 209-m of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York.
