Editor's Note: The title of this chapter was changed from "Town Engineer" to "Town Appointments" and the title of Article I was revised to read "Engineer for Town; Attorney for Town" at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I).
[Adopted 12-16-2004 by L.L. No. 1-2004]
[Amended at time of adoption of Code (see Ch. 1, General Provisions, Art. I)]
The Town of Walworth wishes to obtain services of qualified and capable persons to serve as engineer for the Town and/or attorney for the Town, who may reside outside the Town limits. The Town Board does not deem it necessary that an engineer for the Town and/or an attorney for the Town be a resident of the Town of Walworth, and it is intended to permit the appointment of an engineer for the Town and/or an attorney for the Town who may not necessarily be a resident or elector of the Town of Walworth.
This article is enacted and adopted under authority of § 10, Subdivision 1(i) and 1(ii)d(3), of the Municipal Home Rule Law and to the extent this article supersedes the Town Law.
This article, to the extent inconsistent with same, shall supersede the provisions of § 23 of the Town Law and § 3 of the Public Officers Law and any other provisions of the Town Law or Public Officers Law that are inconsistent with this article and which may be superseded by local laws pursuant to the Municipal Home Rule Law sections cited above.
