There is hereby created, in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146,
the position of Tax Assessor in the Township of Cranford.

The Tax Assessor shall be appointed by a majority vote of the
Township Committee and shall hold office for a term of four years
from the first day of July next following said appointment. Vacancies
other than due to expiration of term shall be filled by appointment
for the unexpired term.
The Tax Assessor shall receive such compensation as the Township
Committee may fix from time to time by ordinance.
There is hereby created in accordance with N.J.S.A. 40A:9-146
the position of Deputy Tax Assessor in the Township of Cranford.
The Deputy Tax Assessor shall act under the direct supervision
of and assist the Tax Assessor.
The Deputy Tax Assessor shall be appointed by a majority vote
of the Township Committee and shall hold office for a term of four
years from the first day of July next following said appointment.
Vacancies other than due to expiration of term shall be filled by
appointment for the unexpired term.
The Deputy Tax Assessor shall receive such compensation as the
Township Committee may fix from time to time by ordinance.
