A Local Assistance Board is hereby created for
the Borough of North Arlington, County of Bergen, State of New Jersey,
pursuant to provisions of N.J.S.A. 44:8-107 et seq.

The Local Assistance Board shall be composed
of five persons, one of whom shall be a woman, to be appointed by
the Mayor, by and with the consent and approval of the Borough Council.
A.
The term of one member of said Local Assistance Board
shall be for one year and shall commence on the first day of January;
such member only may be appointed from among the membership of the
Borough Council.
B.
The terms of the other two current members of the
Board shall be as provided for in the resolutions passed by the governing
body of North Arlington. The initial term of the two new members of
the Local Assistance Board shall be for three and four years, respectively,
and thereafter the term for all members shall be for four years each
and shall commence on January 1.

C.
All members of the Local Assistance Board shall continue
in office until their respective successors shall be appointed and
qualified.
D.
Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired terms
only.
Members of the Local Assistance Board shall
serve without compensation, but their necessary and actual expenses
may be allowed.
The Local Assistance Board and its members shall
be governed by the terms and provisions of N.J.S.A. 44:8-107 et seq.,
and by any amendment thereof or supplements thereto hereafter enacted.
