The Municipal Court of the Borough of North Arlington, in the County of Bergen and State of New Jersey, is hereby created and established in accordance with N.J.S.A. 2B:12-1 et seq., as amended and supplemented.
The Court shall have a seal which shall bear the impress of the name of the Court.
The Court shall have a Judge, who shall be known as the Judge of the Municipal Court and who shall have such qualifications as are required by law. The Judge shall be appointed by the Mayor with the advice and consent of the Council and shall serve for a term of three years from the date of appointment and qualification.
The Judge shall, before entering upon the duties of office, take and subscribe an oath in substantially the same manner as provided in N.J.S.A. 41:2A-6.

The Judge shall receive an annual salary as specified in the Annual Salary Ordinance of the Borough of North Arlington, which shall be paid in installments as and when other regularly employed municipal employees usually receive their salary.[1]

The Court shall hold sessions at the Borough Hall, the time of which shall be determined by the Judge, subject to the approval of the Administrative Director of the Courts.
The compensation paid to the Judge of the Municipal Court shall be in lieu of any and all other fees. The costs and fees charged against defendants when collected shall become municipal funds and shall be turned over to the Treasurer of the Borough. The amount of any such fees and costs shall be as provided in N.J.S.A. 22A:3-4 and as to small claims under civil jurisdiction, as provided by N.J.S.A. 22A:2-43 and 22A:2-37 to 22A 2-42. The fines and penalties imposed shall be disposed of as provided by law.
