This purpose of this article is to create the position of Chief Financial Officer in compliance with requirements established by Chapter 110, Laws of New Jersey 1988, also known as the "Municipal Finance Officers Certification Bill," effective August 22, 1988.[1]

There is hereby established by the governing body of the Borough of Palmyra, County of Burlington, State of New Jersey, the position of Chief Financial Officer who shall be under the general supervision of the governing body and under specific direction of the administrative and executive Council department head.
The Borough Council of the Borough of Palmyra desires to designate the Borough Treasurer as the Chief Financial Officer.
The Chief Financial Officer shall carry out the responsibilities set forth under N.J.S.A. 52:27BB-26 et seq. with respect to fiscal administration in local governments.
