Borough of Palmyra, NJ Chapter 261 Trespassing

§ 261-1 Trespassing prohibited; notice.

A. It shall be unlawful for any person, firm or corporation to commit a trespass within this municipality upon either public or private property.

B. Without constituting any limitation upon the provisions of Subsection A hereof, any person, firm or corporation shall be deemed to be in violation of the provisions of Subsection A who, knowing that he is not licensed to do so, enters or remains in any place as to which notice against trespass is given by:

(1) Actual communication to the actor;

(2) Posting in a manner prescribed by law or reasonably likely to come to the attention of intruders; or

(3) Fencing or other enclosure manifestly designed to exclude intruders.

§ 261-2 Violations and penalties.

Any person, firm or corporation violating any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction thereof, be fined in an amount not exceeding $500 or imprisoned for a term not to exceed 30 days, or both.
