The traffic signal installation shall be in accordance with the provisions of an act concerning motor vehicles and traffic regulations, Subtitle 1 of Title 39 of the New Jersey Revised Statutes, shall conform to the design, and shall be maintained in operation, as authorized by the Department of Transportation of the State of New Jersey.
